Artist, poet, writer and art critic Rene Ricard has died. Rene was frighteningly smart and brutally honest. If he liked your work, it meant a lot.
Many people cared about Rene, but some artists and their families were devoted to him... the Clementes, the Schnabels, and the Mardens come to mind.
Every Rene encounter was a reminder of how truly remarkable he really was.
His death is a huge loss. RIP, Rene Ricard.
