Lorraine Loots, a miniaturist painter from Cape Town, South Africa started a 365 day project on the 1st of January 2013. She decided to do one miniaturist painting a day, measuring smaller than 30mm x 30mm. The project quickly grew and people started booking sentimental dates making suggestions for the painting to be done on that day.
In celebration of Cape Town being named the World Design Capital of 2014, Lorraine began the second phase of her project by painting 365 Cape Town themed Postcards for Ants. She paints one Cape Town themed miniature painting a day and also makes 5 limited edition postcards available.
Lorraine uses her Instagram profile & Facebook Page to share today's painting with all her fans, listing the date, size of the painting and who the painting is for.
You can watch a short documentary below to find out more about how her project started and get a little peek into the life of Lorraine Loots.
